Touring Exhibition: Oman: Tradition and nature of the legend on the Gulf

Pictures by Omani photographers pictures and information panels providing an insight into the beauty of the landscape, historic buildings, history and the development of Oman.

On 18 November 2006, Lord Mayor Dr. Eva Lohse opened the photography exhibition "The Sultanate of Oman - tradition and nature of the legend on the Gulf" at adult education institute (VHS) Ludwigshafen. Opening remarks were given by His Excellence Khalifa Ali Al-Harthy , Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in Germany, and by the President of the German-Omani Association, Mr. Friedhelm Jost. With more than 300 participants the exhibition opening met with overwhelming interest and a very positive response.

Pictures by Omani photographers pictures and information panels provided an insight into the beauty of the landscape, historic buildings, history and the development of Oman.

Ludwigshafen was the first of 11 venues where this second exhibition sponsored by the German-Omani Association was shown. The project ended in May 2008 with an exhibition at the Aachen Hochschule (academy). Accompanying the exhibitions were presentations given by Georg Popp and Alex Moll of the German-Oman. Society, who produced this project on behalf of Oman's Diwan of Royal Court.
